Apparently Trump’s recent pledge to raise import tariffs on goods sold to America, which he has made clear is intended mainly to target China, makes it vital that Brexit is reversed and the UK rejoins the EU customs union and the single market.
The article quotes former Liberal Democrat minister, Sir Nick Harvey (whoever he is) saying that Britain (N.B. Not the UK, note) must “make a clear choice to be part of a strong Europe.”
However, he fails to explain why the UK, able to negotiate its own trade-deals with an Anglophile President would be better off in the EU, unable to negotiate any trade-deals at all… And we all know how poor the EU is at getting trade deals.
But then Harvey is also Chief Executive of the European Movement UK – an organisation of some of the most fanatical devotees of the European Union
Another irrelevant Scottish Nationalist MP, called Stephen Gethins (never heard of him) claims that post-Brexit Britain is “more isolated than at any other time in the post war period”.
Really? – If you are worried about being isolated then why do you want Scottish independence Gethins? Surely you would be terribly “isolated” then?
Naomi Smith, Chief Executive of the UK’s other extreme head-banging EU fanatics organisation, the absurdly named ‘Best for Britain’, similarly seems to think that scurrying into the clutches of the EU would provide some magic solution to the terrible problem confronting the nation.
But of course she doesn’t really… She and the others are just so desperate to dismantle our democracy, turn over our law making to the European Courts, put political policy and executive decision making in the hands of the unelected, and disempower our nation – that they will say anything to try and make a case for it.
Traitorous isn’t it?
